Grass-Fed Burger – Harvest Seasonal Grill

So there is a new king burger on my list – this burger. Has local white cheddar and sautéed onions on an onion bun. I got mine “medium.”

Started the meal out with the pesto caprese flatbread which was great.

Finished the meal with Boston Creme Pie chocolate mousse. I got two!

Gourmet Hot Dogs

Feeling lazy this Sunday evening. Picked up some Hebrew National all-beef jumbo-sized hotdogs and grilled them up outside. Then added sharp cheddar and melted it inside the buns. Then served with green tomato chou chou and vidalia onions and a stripe of brown mustard. Checkmate.

Pulled Chicken Sandwich – Bethany Blues BBQ

Bethany Blues BBQ has been my favorite BBQ joint since the mid-2000s when I first had a meal. Their baby back ribs are the best. The real secret is their award-winning BBQ sauces.

For this meal, my partner in crime and I decided to choose the fried pickles for an appetizer. They were really good. Strips of dill with a very dry and crispy batter. As good as I had hoped.

For the entree, we both chose the pulled chicken sandwich with mac-n-cheese and shoe-string fries. The chicken is so good it almost melts in your mouth. I topped my sandwich with a heaping glob of sweet BBQ sauce. I highly recommend trying this place if in Lewes or Bethany Beach, DE.

Mushroom & Blue Cheese Burger – Capers & Lemons

I eat at Capers & Lemons probably 2-3 times a week. I work directly across the street from the restaurant and it’s become a nice excursion from the office to help break up the day.

Today I went with their cheese burger. I always ask for blue cheese and mushrooms (extra) in place of the standard provolone cheese and sautéed onions. It’s one of my favorite burgers in any restaurant. Give it a try sometime (only on lunch menu).

Foie Gras Burger – Two Stones Pub, Kennett Square

Two Stones Pub in Kennett Square, PA, has been open for almost a year and I finally got around to choosing one of their infamous burgers. I chose the Foie Gras Burger. I wasn’t really sure what foie gras was, but it tasted incredible with the rest of the ingredients. I looked it up afterwards on Wikipedia:

“Foie gras is a food product made of the liver of a duck or goose that has been specially fattened.”

Well, it was a fantastic burger paired with the best selection of craft beers in the area. The sweet potato fries were great too!

Tex-Mex Pork Burrito & Shredded Pork Tacos – La Peña Mexicana

Ordered take out from the best Mexican restaurant in our town – La Peña Mexicana. I ordered the Tex-Mex Pork Burrito with green sauce and mild (hot is HOT!!!), and “a single shredded pork taco.” Surprise! I got 5 tacos and my meal was much more expensive, but this place is so good I didn’t even care and went with it! The burrito was great. Very flavorful and unique. The pork tasted like a pot roast consistency. Delicious.

The highlight was of course the shredded pork tacos. The pork has been marinated in some collection of indescribable Mexican delicious spices with fresh onions and cilantro. And I ate 3 of them! The remaining two will be part of my lunch tomorrow.

Buffalo Oyster Sandwich – Ropewalk Oyster House

This is possibly the best sandwich I’ve ever had. Even better than the crab cake burger from last weekend. It’s a buffalo oyster sandwich served exactly like a buffalo chicken sandwich. The flavor combos were unique and amazing!

Also had two mango crushes and the crab cake egg rolls. Two thumbs up and three Noms for everything tonight!

Chesapeake Crab Burger – Chesapeake Inn

This is possibly one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in my life. A perfectly-cooked angus burger with quality American cheese topped with a lump crab cake at one of the most well-known crab cake restaurants in MD. It was HUGE but worth finishing anyway. A+++!

Lamb Chops – Di Parma – San Juan

One of the main culinary highlights on our Puerto Rican vacation was our meal at Di Parma. We say outside on a nice patio. Ordered sangria (excellent) and bruschetta. The bruschetta was served in a unique way – an entire slice of tomato with mozzarella cheese. It was filling and surprisingly great.

The main course was lamb chops. They were tender and full of flavor! Perfectly done!
